The Adolphus Hotel is one of Dallas’ most romantic venues. The hotel just underwent some major renovations, but did not loose any of it’s historic charm. Which makes for the perfect background to any event. And thanks to Catering Sales Manager, Sandy Howe, we were able to get some more details on this amazing venue.
Q: What is your favorite feature of your venue?
A: Our iconic chandelier hanging over our main lobby. It was commissioned by Adolphus Busch for the 1904 World’s Fair. He had two of these huge chandeliers made with eagles holding hops in their talons and a crown at the top for him being self-named “The King of Beer”. It’s twin is suspended in the Anheuser-Busch stables in St. Louis.
Q: How far in advance should couples book your space?
A: One year out is pretty common, but don’t let that hold you back if you are aiming for a shorter engagement. As long as your dates are a little flexible, we will work with you to find the perfect fit!
Q: Why do you think client’s choose your venue over your competition?
A: Our unparalleled service level. We have kept a top notch reputation within the Dallas community for over 100 years.
Q: What do you love most about weddings?
A: The love you can see in the couples’ eyes right after the ceremony. It is something you can’t re-create and it is so special. We love to work with fantastic wedding planners like Robyne with Southern Affairs to make the planning process easy and enjoyable. That way, when it comes to the wedding day, all the couple has to worry about is living in the moment and enjoying their special day.
Q: What is something you would like clients to know about your venue that they cannot read on your website?
A: The Adolphus has such a fun atmosphere with four restaurant/bars including our rooftop pool experience that really sets the mood for an exciting wedding weekend! The hotel inspires each guest’s journey by offering vibrant and storied surroundings, imaginative food and drink and locally celebrated amenities and experiences, all crafted and delivered with intuitive, memorable service.
Q: What advice could you offer to newly engaged couples?
A: Enjoy every second and keep it fun. The planning process can seem like a lot of work, but if you have booked the right venue and hired a great planner, you can rest knowing the details are going to be taken care of.
Q: And my favorite question to ask: what is your signature cocktail?
A: The 1912 here at The Adolphus is my favorite! It is our twist on the Old Fashioned.
